Find parts by the job in front of you

Pick the kind of work you are doing. Each section lists the product lines to start from, a few tips for choosing, and an example parts list.

01 / Job type

Irrigation and landscape

Irrigation mainlines and laterals are built from pipe, socket fittings and a shutoff valve at each zone. We sell all three, so one order can cover the whole system. Send us your pipe sizes and run lengths and we will quote the full list.

Typical parts

How to choose

  • Match the schedule and size to the job. Mainlines usually run larger than laterals.
  • Check the pressure and temperature ratings of the pipe, fittings and valves together.
  • Use the right primer and cement for PVC, and follow the instructions on the can.
  • Check local code before you buy.

Example starter list

Example only; quantities depend on your design.

One zone off a 1 in lateral

QtyPart
41 in Schedule 40 pipe, 10 ft sticks
61 in 90° elbows, slip × slip
31 in tees, slip × slip × slip
41 in couplings, slip × slip
21 in male adapters, MPT × slip
11 in compact ball valve, slip × slip

02 / Job type

Pressure water and plumbing

Pressure water lines, pump and filter connections and utility plumbing use Schedule 40 pipe, fittings and valves. Gray Schedule 80 gives a heavier wall where the job needs it. Pick the schedule and size to match the pressure and temperature on your job.

Typical parts

How to choose

  • Match the schedule and size to the job. Schedule 40 suits general pressure lines. Schedule 80 has a thicker wall.
  • Check the pressure and temperature ratings of the pipe, fittings and valves together. Ratings drop as temperature rises.
  • Use the right primer and cement, follow their instructions, and let joints cure as long as the can says before you pressure-test.
  • Check local code for what your job requires. Ask us for the paperwork for the exact part number before you order.

Example starter list

Example only; quantities depend on your design.

Pump line, 1-1/2 in Schedule 40

QtyPart
31-1/2 in Schedule 40 pipe, 10 ft sticks
41-1/2 in 90° elbows, slip × slip
21-1/2 in tees, slip × slip × slip
21-1/2 in male adapters, MPT × slip
11-1/2 in union, O-ring, slip × slip
21-1/2 in compact ball valves, slip × slip

03 / Job type

Drain, waste and vent

Drain, waste and vent (DWV) fittings build the gravity drain and vent lines inside a building. We sell white PVC and black ABS fittings, plus the traps, cleanouts and closet flanges that go with them. Your local code decides which material you can use.

Drainage and venting only. DWV fittings are not for pressure or potable water. For gravity sewer and storm pipe, ask us before you order.

Typical parts

Need pipe for the drain or vent runs? Ask us before you order.

How to choose

  • Match the fitting type and size to the line you are building. Ask us if you are not sure which bend, wye or combo fits.
  • Do not mix materials without checking. ABS and PVC need the correct transition cement where they meet.
  • Use the right primer and cement, and follow the instructions on the can.
  • Check local code. Some jurisdictions prefer PVC and others prefer ABS.

Example starter list

Example only; quantities depend on your design.

One bathroom, PVC DWV

QtyPart
14 × 3 in closet flange, hub
23 in long sweep 1/4 bends, hub × hub
13 in wye, all hub
12 in P-trap, hub × hub
22 in 1/8 bends (45°), hub × hub

04 / Job type

Industrial and maintenance

Pump connections, process lines and plant maintenance often call for a heavier wall than Schedule 40. Gray Schedule 80 fittings, with ball valves for shutoff, cover a lot of that work. Check the pressure, the temperature and the fluid in the line before you choose.

Typical parts

Need a size or schedule that is not on the site? Ask us.

How to choose

  • Match the schedule and size to the job. Schedule 80 has a thicker wall than Schedule 40.
  • Check the pressure and temperature ratings of the pipe, fittings and valves together. The weakest part sets the limit.
  • Check that PVC suits the fluid in your line. If you are unsure, ask the fluid supplier.
  • Use the right primer and cement, follow the instructions on the can, and check local code and site rules.

Example starter list

Example only; quantities depend on your design.

Pump connection, 2 in Schedule 80

QtyPart
42 in Schedule 80 90° elbows, slip × slip
22 in Schedule 80 tees, slip × slip × slip
42 in Schedule 80 couplings, slip × slip
22 in Schedule 80 unions, O-ring seal, slip × slip (price on request)
